www.lymphnet.org National Lymphedema Network (NLN). This is an advocate organization for patients with lymphedema. They have a position paper on lymphedema risk reduction practices. It is a must read for any person that had lymph nodes removed. Lymph nodes maybe removed during oncology breast surgery and this paper is important to read. It is updated every few years.
www.celluliteinvestigation.com. If you have cellulite and you want answers this is the place to go. A non-healthcare professional did extensive research and has proven ways that work.
Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. GREAT site for dietary supplement information. Sign up for newsletter. Pauling was the famous Vitamin C advocate and researcher.

BOOK, Being Mortal, Medicine and What Matters in the End. (2014) author Atul Gawande. Dr. Gawande is a surgeon and educator and he wrote a best selling book entitled Complications which I have also read. It is a book about the complications that can occur during surgery and this book was rated as one of the top ten best books in 2007. Being Mortal is his newest book and I highly reccomend this book if you have aging family members or if you yourself are aging. This is a practical look at the difficulties that can occur during the later years of life in relationship to the medical community and the "practice" of medicine. It is a guide to prepare yourself to live a life of autonomy, dignity and joy in the end of life and in illness. It is a book that will save you or your family endless grief if you prepare for and understand your options. It is a powerful book full of real life emotional examples. I highly suggest it.
BOOK. The Omega-3 Effect author William Sears, MD. ((2012) This is the best book I have read about the many benefits of Omega-3 supplementation. It is easy to read and the author describes difficult concepts in very easy to understand language. This book can change your health and assist in making the aging process an easier transition.

Book, The Emperor of All Maladies author Siddhartha Mukherjee. This is a biography of Cancer. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize. 571 pages plus an interview in the back of book. An interesting review of cancer, its history, and how it affects our lives. Illuminating. Not a fast read but a worthwhile one. The author's style takes a complicated subject and makes it readable and enjoyable.
Book,Kitchen Table Wisdom author Rachel Naomi Remen, MD. 1997, 2006 anniversary update. About healing and living. I found this to be an extraordinary book. Please consider reading. Easy to read a few short chapters each evening.
Book, Life Over Cancer author Keith I. Block, M.D. 2009 This is an incredible resource for anyone living with cancer. In the book Dr. Block gives great details about state-of-the-art anticancer nutrition, fitness, and mind-body wellness plans. He believes in combining the best of conventional medicine with scientifically supported complementary therapies. He is the medical director of the Block Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment located in Evanston, Illinois. He has treated thousands of patients who have lived long, full lives beyond their original prognosis. I highly suggest this book. It will help you immensely and give you hope and many ideas that you can use during your cancer journey.
Book, Cancer Step Outside the Box author Ty Bollinger. (2011 5th Edition) This well researched book is a bible of alternative approaches to cancer. It details non-conventional approaches to treatment of disease and cancer. If you are considering alternatives to traditional care, please read this book. www.CancerTruth.net
BOOKS, Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman Way (1996) and New Menopausal Years, The Wise Woman Way, Alternative Approaches for Women 30-90 (2002). These two books are excellent for herbs, recipes, and resources. Author Susan S. Weed. She has other books you may want to check out too and since they are older, the cost will be less.
BOOKS, Love, Medicine and Miracles (1986) Dr. Bernie S. Siegel, MD. Also his web site www.berniesiegelmd.com. His work with cancer patients is extraordinary and his wisdom profound. I highly suggest this book even though it was written several years ago as it is still pertinent today. His newest book, A Book of Miracles, Inspiring True Stories of Healing, Gratitude, and Love (2011) is also a must read.
BOOK, KNOCKOUT (2009), author Suzanne Somers. Interviews with medical doctors who are curing cancer and prevention. Foreword by Julian Whitaker, MD. Ms. Somers does an incredible service to us by creating this book. She has interviewed many medical professionals about how they treat cancer and how they see it as a disease. This book is extremely beneficial if you are in a cancer journey. It is easy to read and valuable. All types of cancer treatments are covered including traditional and alternative. It is a beginning resource to guide you.

A fun way to remain active is a new game called PICKLEBALL. It is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball and a wood paddle. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. 4 people play.
